3/12/2008
NEW YORK (March 12, 2008) - Penton Media's Fire Chief magazine today announced that its third annual Station Style Conference, focused on the planning and design of emergency response facilities, will be held April 26-29, 2008 at the Wyndham Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona. The 2008 Station Style Conference will examine the changing role of fire stations and facilities in today's emergency response environment. Additional conference details are available at
http://firechief.com/stationstyleconference.
The conference will allow attendees to see the latest in station-design technology and to talk with chiefs, officers and architects from across the United States about site planning, design and other building issues. Agenda topics include operations-based design; cost-estimation as a design tool; mixed-use facilities; LEED and Fire/Rescue; and training facility considerations. A tour of two Phoenix Fire Department stations also will be available.
"Since Fire Chief first introduced its Station Style Design Awards, the expanding responsibilities of fire and EMS agencies have increased interest in station design concepts, architectural successes and technology advances," said Janet Wilmoth, editorial director. "This year's Station Style Conference will focus on the changing needs of traditional fire departments and multiple-agency responses, as well as financial restrictions and environmental issues related to new facilities."
