First Of Its Kind Online Video Program Featuring Cutting-Edge Engineering In Action

CLEVELAND, OH (January 9, 2007) - Penton Media announces the launch of Engineering TV, a new online video program by engineers for engineers. Focused on B2B engineering topics, Engineering TV covers emerging technologies, best practices, new products, the latest developments, behind the scenes footage, and insights into the people at the forefront of design engineering - all delivered in a visual, highly compelling format. Housed at www.EngineeringTV.com, the program features two 5-8 minute episodes per week. Viewers receive notification of new episodes via email or RSS.

"We are very excited to offer yet another unique and evolving source for engineers. Engineering TV leverages the large online audiences of our established brands to create a new means of content dissemination through web video technology," said John Petersen, publishing director of Penton’s Design Engineering group.

Engineering TV is a joint effort by Penton’s engineering brands including Machine Design, Electronic Design, Motion Systems Design, EEPN, Microwaves & RF, and Medical Design. The editors of all of these publications use their combined knowledge and expertise to develop the programming featured on Engineering TV. As a result, the topics are highly applicable and resonate with both electronic and mechanical OEM engineering audiences.

"Just about every new media and Web 2.0 survey we've seen suggests that video makes online content more compelling and is making the broadest impact within the B2B marketplace today. The time is right for the launch of Engineering TV and for product marketers to take advantage of it. Our premier sponsors, National Instruments and Analog Devices, Inc., agree and are taking advantage of this innovative opportunity," said Tom Morgan, group director of Penton’s Electronics OEM Group.

"Engineering TV is the latest product to join Penton’s growing portfolio of B2B video products including Lodging Hospitality TV and video channels on both EEPN and Electronic Design. We believe in the power of online video in serving B2B readers and marketers and will have several other significant video launches throughout 2007," adds Eric Shanfelt, senior vice president of eMedia for Penton Media.
